Now that I have your attention, LOL! Expedia.com is one of the best online services for airfares and hotel rooms I have used, if not the best. I have used this site on three occasions and I got just what I wanted, cheap prices, instant confirmation, and quick delivery.
The first time I used the service was for airfare and last time I used the service it was for airfare. Both times I received an marvelous deal. Just last week I got a ticket for my cousin who lives in Las Vegas, NV to fly to Newark, NJ. The round trip ticket was $241 complete and the tickets arrived within 3 days to my house. The first time, I got tickets through them for myself, same thing within 3 days. I was impressed!
Not only was the airfare unbeatable, I received an email voucher for 50% off my next ticket purchase that can be used for like the next 6 months. How can you beat that deal? The service is so easy to use and to surf for the fares you are looking for. Some other online services are so difficult to locate the flights you want and take forever in a page after page lookup. Not only is it so easy to find the flight you want, they also have another nifty option and the one I used to get my cousins tickets last week.
After pulling up the dates you desire to travel, you can choose to click on a button that will tell you the lowest fares for the round trip travel that they have available. I came to a list of over 20 flight dates with that low $241 fare. The normal fare for this flight was over $500 with Expedia and other sites. Well my cousin was flexible and was able to fly out on the next flight at the great price. Expedia does offer some terrific deals!
I have also used the service to book hotel rooms in 2 different cities in one week. I actually had went to Priceline.com first, because I had used their service before and bid for a room and was very happy with them. But unlike the first time, the first bid I put in a week prior to my trip was rejected. I thought I would wait until the night before leaving to try again, figuring any hotels not full would offer a good deal. I was so disappointed when I tried to bid and it wouldn't take it because the first available date you could try for the day after. I thought you could bid anytime, but you cannot one day before; so it is not good for last, last minute plans. Now I am aware of this.
So, I searched online for over 2 hrs. and had no success finding a reasonable room rate. Then Expedia popped into my mind. When I got to the site, I found a pleasant surprise. They had a similar bid type set up like Priceline. You pick the area you want to stay, name a price, and the calibur of hotel you want. And get this, you don't even have to wait an hour for confirmation or denial by email like with Priceline, it tells you instantly online if you are approved and the transaction processed. I even think they are offering the bid service for flights now as well.
The first bid I put in was for $45 for 3 nights for a room normally $110 a night, it was denied. So I increased the price to $55 BUT, I also asked for the normal hotels going for $190 a night. I figured if I had to pay more, I wanted a great room not ever thinking it would go through. I was approved!!! Wow, I thought this is great. For the second leg of my trip, I again put a bid in for $55 for the $190 a night room for 2 nights, again approved. I was all set in under 5 minutes not having to worry about where I was going to sleep for the week.
And the hotel rooms were GREAT! Both had pools, and were spacious. The second one was more than I could have hoped for. There were 4 of us staying in the rooms and on the second leg of the trip the room was a mini suite with all the works. AND, along with everything else, they served a full cooked to order breakfast at the hotel every morning from 6-9am and for no extra charge. Plus, we there was a lounge with free drinks from 6-7pm and they also had dinner, free! The dinners weren't fancy, hot dogs and hamburgers one night, pasta the next. We didn't eat the dinner, but for some people free is free and you can't beat it. So the $55 a night, really became only $30 a night (in my mind) because it would have cost us 4 at least $25 for breakfast everyday.
Sorry this was a bit long, but as you can tell Expedia.com has a customer for life in me. Everything about this online company is nothing less than outstanding! So the next time you need a flight for a price you want to pay, or hotel rooms: My suggestion is before you check anywhere else go to Expedia, to quickly satisfy all your travel needs.
