Back when I first started writing epinions I did a review on the Alladvantage viewbar. That was in February 2000. Now eight months later, I have deleted that review a decided to write another review on the viewbar in response to the changes in the program & the reversal of my opinion of this program.
What was once my favorite paid to surf program, the Alladvantage viewbar is now in my opinion one of the worst paying viewbars available on the web. It takes up space on my computer, I have to deal with flashing ads, & slower surfing for a few pennies per month. Back when the program first started I didn't mind this for an extra $100 - $150 per month. You see I have 8 direct referrals and over 550 indirect referrals. That used to amount to a lot of money just for surfing the web. Now with their new program I earned a whopping $7.32 last month! Huge difference wouldn't you say?
I had a gut feeling Alladvantage was spreading itself too thin too fast & that a good thing could only last for so long. Small changes along the way lead me to believe this. First Alladvantage went global, becoming available to many more countries worldwide. Great!, this expanded their audience for viewing their ads, but the number of sponsors did not appear to be growing in proportion to their member base. The first change to come about was reducing the number of hours they would pay us to surf. Okay, it was still paying decent money, so still worth my time.
Next, they lowered the amount of surfing time they would pay for again, but raised the amount of money per hour they would pay by 3¢. As it turned out most people, myself included, only stood to lose more money with this change.
Now with the latest change that came about in September, you have the option of joining their alternative rewards program or entering their sweepstakes. The alternate rewards program is based on what was their original program, but with ridiculously low payout fees. You had to read the fine print in an e-mail they sent you to even join the alternate rewards program, otherwise you were automatically signed up for the sweepstakes with low odds of winning.
I am currently entered in the alternative rewards program & as stated above seen a drastic drop in earnings between the low payout fees and the majority of my referrals now being entered in the sweepstakes. I am waiting to reach my $30 and will cash out, never to turn the viewbar on again unless they start paying decent money again.
