DesktopDollars is another of the Get Paid to Surf companies. They have all of the bells and whistles to entice you to use them. They have unlimited hours. They have a history of paying. They have a bonus system. They even have internet radio. So, let's get to the details.
Individual Payout
DesktopDollars pays for unlimited hours. You don't have to click on the banner ads to get paid. But, and I quote from an email that I received from DesktopDollars, "…you will earn a little bit more money if you do click on them." They pay by the number of ads that you view.
I delayed my review of this company until I could figure out how much per hour, this would work out to be. So, I emailed them and got a simple straightforward answer. "You can view 2 ads per minute. We pay you on a percentage of revenue model."
Pretty simple. I went back to calculate based on their information what this would work out to be. The latest balance that I have is for August. After taking this information and trying to determine how much per hour that it works out to be, I came up with $0.076 per hour. Well, at least it explained why after 10 hours in August I had $0.78.
DesktopDollars pays 45% of the money that they earn to the individual member. They give their top four performers a $250 bonus each week. Three of them are selected randomly from the Top 100 users. The fourth $250 bonus is selected randomly from the 100 users whose Level 1 ads viewed totals are the highest for that week. Their minimum payment amount is US$30 and US$60 for international members.
Referrals
DesktopDollars pays 15% for your Direct, 5% for the 1st Indirect, 2% for the 2nd Indirect, and 1% for 3rd through 5th Indirect.
Viewbar
The viewbar is called “The ProfitZone.” It is about an inch in height and covers the complete width of the screen. Approximately every 10 minutes, a message on their viewbar comes up with two buttons, Continue -- Stop. Of course, this is so that you don’t get paid for leaving the viewbar on and taking off for the weekend. A little side note, the two buttons never come up in the same area. That is so that the cheaters, actually I’d like to call them something else, have a hard time programming for the Continue button.
It does not require you to be surfing, clicking banners or anything of that nature. You just need to be hooked up to the internet. On the viewbar, it has links back to DesktopDollars, but also, to DIC Radio, which I will cover next.
DIC Radio
You can click on the DIC Radio button off of the DesktopDollars viewbar and listen to music while you’re surfing. DesktopDollars pays out cash bonuses and prizes for listening to the music. I have listened to the stations and it plays decent music. The music comes through clear enough. But, it aggravated me to be listening to a song, hear a little silence and then all of a sudden they were already into the next song. I am sure the technology will improve in the future. In the meantime, I think that I’ll just stick a CD into my computer CD tray and listen to music.
DreamMail
If you agree to receive the weekly email message from one of their sponsors, you can be entered into their sweepstakes. Each email constitutes an entry into the sweepstakes.
Conclusion
I will give them one point for unlimited hours. I have to give them another point for having a history of paying. In addition, they have a good referral program. Then, I look at their rates, $0.076 per hour. That would mean after 100 hours for the month at $0.076, you would accrue $7.60. Please understand these are estimates, based on the most current information.
In the final analysis, the decision to choose DesktopDollars is more dependent upon the type of surfer that you are. It may take the "lone surfer," one who does not work on building a downline, quite a while to see any type of rewards from the program. However, because of the strength of the referral program, an individual, who can build a good downline may do quite well with the program.
