In this review I am going to sound like my grandfather looking back at "the good ole days". I'll be looking back at the yonder days and comparing them with how things look today. Eventhough it is in my hatelist, Alladvantage did have its good old days.
IN THE BEGINNING...
I joined Alladvantage (AA) when it had just started. Before AA, I had tried about 5 other programs to make an extra income on the web with no success. At first I was very skeptical with AA because they weren't paying at the time, and because it simply was too good to be true. But much to my surprise I got my first check in September '99. At that moment I redirected my efforts to find as many referrals as possible for AA. In October I was greeted once again with another check in my mailbox.
FIRST LITTLE-BIG PROBLEM
But then November and December came with no check. I wrote support for the first time and waited as stated in the autoresponse for a whole week for a personal response. I received none. I decided to write once again....and again and again, but never did I receive a personal response. Only autoresponses with empty promises.
GIVING CREDIT TO WHOM CREDIT IS DUE
One day I found the AA A+ members' advocate email address, and wrote him about my missing checks. I received an immediate response from him...a personal response. We were able to fix the problem in about a week. Once again, thank you very much Mr. Sam Ladah.
WALKING DOWN THE HILL
By February I was really excited becuase I started receiving my checks once again. It is now July and have never missed a check ever since. But from February on I have noticed some negative changes; a general decrease in the quality of the program. The first change was the change of date of sending checks: in 1999 I used to receive my checks about 20 days after the month I was getting paid for, but I got every other check later and later each month. Last month I received my check 45 days after the month I was getting paid for (check for April 2000- received June 14,2000).
Other recent changes were the decrease in the hours they were paying for per month and the increase of the minimum amount needed to receive a check:
-->When they opened last year, they were paying for a maximum of 25 hours of usage of the viewbar with the promise of paying for 40 hours in the months to come....never happened. They actually lowered the number to 15 hours in June.
-->When they opened, you had to accumulate $20 or more to receive a check. Now they increased the amount to $30.
These two points are detrimental to the very active members like me who are constantly investing in good advertising methods in order to sponsor new members into the program. Most of these new members never get enough referrals to even make the minimum ($30) in one month, so they simply cancel their accounts.
CONCLUSION
I have really enjoyed AA. And yes, I was very happy and satisfied with the program. It is the only program that has given me results. But they have had too many problems...the viewbar takes up space in your screen, gobbles up some of your RAM, has a useless online support form, problems with the server in May 2000 that wouldn't allow you to logon to your account, the viewbar not connecting to their servers every now and then, checks coming later and later each month...heck, I didn't even mention that my account page now has a new message saying that they have some sort of problem with my account, it is being evaluated, and that I'll be contacted in the next few days....We'll see.
TO PEOPLE THAT WANT TO JOIN NOW, I'll tell you that it does work, but you are joining in rough times. It is now a lot harder to find referrals for the program. You will need to make an extra effort to get enough referrals in order to go over the $30 limit, and to keep them motivated. And when you do get enough active referrals, you will need to be very patient when waiting for those checks.
TO THOSE OF US THAT HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME FOR A WHILE, have had good results, but think that AA's future is bleak, lets just keep praying that AA stays afloat for a while longer.
