I am sorry to write such a negative epinion, but trust me... if you were in my shoes, only for fifteen minutes, you'd understand. This epinion is my story of a true life nightmare and disaster. If you are smart, you will pay close attention and heed my warning!
I have never sold anything at Yahoo auctions. I have never bought anything at Yahoo auctions. I have never, ever been a customer of Yahoo Auctions. So, how can I write an epinion about them? Read on and find out for yourself...
I am an avid online shopper. I admit it... if I find a good deal, I can't pass it up, I buy it. I trust the internet and especially sites that claim to have SSL (Secure Socket Layers) to protect my personal and financial information. I shouldn't have been so trusting. These places are not always trustworthy.
How it happened, that I am not quite sure. It's just been a mess.. a total nightmare! I am not even quite sure I can recall how I was alerted to the entire situation. The facts of that matter are this.. my credit card numbers (2 cards) were stolen via the internet. These credit cards were registered, illegally at Yahoo Auctions and some items were sold using my identity. From what I have been presented with, these items were sold, monies received and the items were never shipped or never received by the purchaser. When all was said and done, the person who stole my identity and these people's money, bailed and left the investigators hunting me because the account was registered to me and my credit card!
Now, for someone who's never really dealt with Yahoo other than a search engine or to look up a road map, this all came as quite a surprise. First some strange letters come to me claiming I had ripped these people off of brand new cars, computers, business machinery and more. They claim they went through Yahoo and found out that I had the auction account so they were coming after me!
Next thing I knew, State Policemen were knocking on my door. They were rude and didn't believe me when I tried to tell them what was going on. No one ever wanted to take the report on my stolen credit card numbers, only to accuse me of being involved in the auction fiasco.
Probably the worst of all of the slaps in the face was dealing with customer support at Yahoo. The weren't customer support. They were customer neglect and customer rudeness! I got no where with them. They weren't willing to help me file reports on my credit cards. They swore that I had created the account. Oh, and you know how they ask for your mother's maiden name on everything? The thief who entered my account information put the mother's maiden name as Miller. That's not my mother's maiden name. But when I called them and for Security purposes they asked my mother's maiden name, I gave them her maiden name and they wouldn't talk to me at first because they told me that the name I gave as my mother's maiden name was INCORRECT?!? Now, how would they know! I am the one who knows my mother's name, not them!
Once more, when all was said and done, all anyone wanted to deal with was accusing me of pocketing all of this money and stealing from these people. What about me? My card numbers were stolen! My cards had charges on them! I have had fits over this stuff! No one wanted to help me. Not the police, not the internet provider, and no, not Yahoo!
There's lots more to this story, but I don't want to go into detail because of still having to defend myself and my honor to the police and authorities. No, this matter isn't over. I am still be accused. Someday, someone will find out what's going on. They'll stop harrassing me and stop threatening me. They'll find out who stole my private information and used it for their own gain.
This isn't a false story. This isn't a story to scare you. This isn't a pity party story either. This review was written to make you aware that this could be you next time. Don't trust anyone and don't deal with Yahoo Auctions! If you have had positive experience with them, great for you! But watch your back! You just never know! Consider yourself warned!
