You can jump right in. Expedia welcomes you with open arms. Nothing beats a travel site, when you want a quick price quote and travel itinerary, where you don’t have to immediately sign up and become a member. This is the first place I head when I make travel plans or am just daydreaming about somewhere other then cyberspace.
Through the Express Search service you can find a flight, hotel or rental car instantly. Just type in your information and go. Within seconds a list of options is available. The selections offer a wide range of flight, hotel and travel reservations.
Plug in your data on the Expedia interface and you’ll wonder why travel agents still exist.
All the facts and figures are laid out in front of you. There are no special trips to the travel agent, deciphering itineraries over the phone, or waiting for your travel information to arrive in the mail. A quick, secure credit card purchase and print out of the travel plans and you are set. Should you need additional confirmation or reassurance, a 24 hour representative is available . . . 1-800-Expedia or travel@expedia.com
For the three travel services; flight, hotel and car, Expedia also offers a Price Matcher service. Set the parameters of your travel plans. Be flexible to a few conditions of the service, i.e. flight times, type of hotel, type of vehicle, etc.. Prepay your ticket. Price Matcher takes care of the rest, assuring the lowest published rate within fifteen minutes.
Expedia now offers package deals on trips. If this isn’t enough to get those travel taste buds going. Start salivating at the New Orleans package from $358. There’s even money laden incentives for those who make it out of the French Quarter alive. The Southern California package is a scant $250. At that low price, I don’t think it offers citizenship but Disneyland is a rental car away. For a limited time, Budget still offers the white Bronco special. Brown bag stuffed with fake beard and $8,000 not included.
Travelers Tools section comes complete with Flight Status, Airport Information, Health & Safety, Currency Converter, Mileage Tracker, Driving Directions, Travel Gear, and E-Cards. Type in any driving directions and not only are you presented with a very helpful map but options for rental cars, lodging, airfares and city guides are just a click away. Mileage Tracker manages all your awards programs in one place. Business Traveler Resources let you download information to your laptop or Palm Pilot.
I have used Expedia on several occasions and have been pleased with the results. The ease of use, diverse resources and quick response make this a personal favorite. Additionally, Expedia keeps your personal information and travel preferences on account for easy reference. With over 450 airlines and 40,000 hotels, you literally have the world at your fingertips. There is no better place on the Internet for travel tips and commentary than Expedia.com. Expedia makes your destination their interest.
