(Searchcactus.com is a search engine, but there was no listing for it in the new Search Engines section.)
Searchcactus.com is a search engine site that will pay you to use them to do searches. They even pay you $2 just for signing up with them! You are allowed to do up to 20 searches a day ($0.02 a search = $0.40 a day maximum). There is the potential to earn up to $12 a month if you use it everyday, and do the maximum number of searches. You are also paid a percentage of your referrals' earnings. You do not have to download any software to use this service; you search directly from their site.
The Searchcactus sites that you are paid to visit have a small hand next to them. (The little hand looks like the one from the now-defunct Colorstamps search site.) At Netflip, you have to wait 3 days before you can repeat a search on any given term, but you only have to wait 24 hours at Searchcactus. Also, you are not required to remain at each site for 20 seconds, like you have to do at Netflip. If a site is not interesting to you, you should (at least) let it load before you move on to the next site.
I would suggest this site for anyone who does a lot of research, or for anyone would like to find interesting sites while getting paid to do so. I think that you can earn money fairly quickly with Searchcactus, as long as you use it regularly. It's a plus if you have referrals because you get a percentage of their earnings.
The amount you earn may not seem like much, but it adds up quickly and gives you another source of income. If you are also using other get-paid programs, this is just another way to keep a check coming from somewhere. I'd rather have smaller checks coming from all over all of the time than to sit there waiting for 1 big check. You should never depend on only one source to pay you because it is not always guaranteed that you will get paid. Lots of get-paid companies shut down when they can't keep up with the competition.
Once your balance reaches $20 or more by the end of any given month, you can request a check. One thing you should note is that you MUST request your check during the last week of the month that you are eligible. If you wait until the following month, you will have missed the deadline, and will not receive a check until the following month (I learned the hard way). After I requested my first check, I received it on the 16th of the next month! Pretty fast, I think!
