Hotjobs can help you supplement your job search and see what is available in your town. I don't know how it is for people in less populated areas, but I was searching for jobs in New York City and found many that I could apply to.
I like Hotjobs because it's easy to use and navigate, you don't have to do too much hide and seek to find what you are looking for. Also, they will let you keep your resume on file with them so that if you do find a job you want to apply for you can just write a quick cover letter and click a button and they will include your resume for you, or you can enter it as you go and make any necessary changes.
Hotjobs is organized first by job category, and then you can narrow that down to your geographical location. I got several job interviews through hotjobs, although none of them ended up being the one for me, but that's not the fault of Hotjobs.
Due to the popularity of the site, I imagine that some employeers must get hundreds of resumes, so please also look in your local paper or at other job sites, because you will not hear back from all the places you submit your resume to at Hotjobs. You should also find a way to make your resume and YOU stand out because employers also know how easy it is to use a site like hotjobs and just click, and boom, your resumed is sent.
Also, check in other related fields - sometimes jobs are listed twice or listed in a category you might not think they would be - for instance, I was looking for "Administrative Assistant" positions but I also looked under secretary because there were often very similar jobs available. Another tip is to check hotjobs throughout the day, because your chances are probably better the sooner you get your resume in, and they do update the listings more than once a day.
