PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW THE ADVICE GIVEN TO ME IN A COMMENT ON MY REVIEW OF ALL ADVANTAGE THAT WAS WRITTEN EARLIER THIS YEAR. THAT ADVICE WAS TO UPDATE THE INFORMATION IN THE EPINION, SO I HAVE DELETED THAT EPINION AND AM NOW SUBMITTING THIS NEW EPINION WITH INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THEIR NEW PROGRAM.
WHAT IS ALL ADVANTAGE?
All Advantage is a "Paid-to-Surf" program. What this means is that they will pay you to surf the internet, all you have do to is download what they call a "Viewbar". Their website can be found at http://www.alladvantage.com
WHAT'S A VIEWBAR?
The Viewbar is a bar that you download at their website and it sits at the bottom of your screen. It is about an inch high and fits completely across your screen.
The Viewbar comes with the following features:
~~Infomediary Man - this looks like a man, if his head is green you know you are making money or earning a sweepstake entry. If his head is red, you are not making any money or earning any entries.
~~Menu Bar - choose a category on the menu bar for direct access to the sites you want to see. The categories you can choose from are: Home, Shop, News, Finance, Entertainment, Travel, Sports, and Tech.
~~All Advantage button - this takes you right to their website.
~~Search - this allows you to do a search for an item right from the viewbar.
~~Provider - lets you choose the search engine you would like to use.
~~Banner and Title Ad Space - this is where you will see all the ads. You are encouraged to click on them and visit their websites, but it is not mandatory to earn your money or sweepstake entry.
~~All Play - this is the area with you will find ads or promotions for things directly relevant to you. They will know what to show there by monitoring your surfing habits.
GET PAID TO SURF, SO HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE?
Others like myself signed up last year when All Advantage was the most trusted "paid-to-surf" programs out there. Back then, you were paid 50 cents for every hour you surfed up to 25 hours a month, with the promise that it would soon be raised to 40 hours a month. You were also encouraged to refer others to the program and you were paid for their surfing time. I do not remember the exact rate for this being I never had any referrals. (I joined after everyone and their brother had already joined, thus making it hard to get any referrals). Well, they went through some changes earlier in the year and actually lowered the hours you could surf. As of September 1, 2000, they changed again. Now, All Advantage is offering a daily sweepstakes. They claim to have a "Daily Jackpot" of $50,000 (USD) minimum, with the winner getting 50% of the jackpot. It works like this; you must surf three minutes a day to be entered into the sweepstakes. For each additional three minutes you surf, you will get another sweepstakes entry, up to five entries a day. Also, if one of your referrals wins the "Grand Prize", as long as you have surfed three minutes, you will get 10% of the jackpot, so the more referrals you have the better your chances of winning some money.
Do you feel lucky? No, well you can still get paid to surf, but for those living in the United States, it is only 20 cents an hour now, up to 20 hours a month. You can get 10 cents an hour for your direct referrals and 5 cents for your extended referrals. There are other countries that can get paid to surf; I encourage you to visit their website to find out exactly how much and maximum hours. If you start feeling lucky, you can switch between the programs, just remember, it will start at the beginning of the next month. If you decide during September to give the sweepstakes a try, but half way through the month you decide this is for the birds, then you change back to the "alternative" program, but it will not become effective till October 1.
I SURFED, NOW WHERE'S MY CHECK?
For those in the US, you must have $30 in your account before they will mail you a check. All Advantage will send you a check 25 to 45 days after the end of the month in which you reached the required amount. If you win the Sweepstakes, they will notify you right away.
DOES THE SWEEPSTAKES HAVE A WINNER EVERYDAY?
There could be days where there is not a winner, so then the jackpot will roll over to the next day.
MY TAKE ON THE WHOLE THING
I am really disappointed in the program. I really felt good about All Advantage when I first joined. I knew I wouldn't become rich off surfing, but I thought it would be a nice way to make a few bucks for doing something I like to do anyway - surfing the internet. I will continue to run the bar having opted in for the "alternative" program at the moment. I really believe All Advantage is headed the way of other "paid-to-surf" programs, OUT OF BUSINESS. How long will they hang on, I do not know, but I am in till they go down all the way.
