Losing weight and keeping it off!

I have gained about 40 pounds since my marriage in 1994 and I have tried hundreds of weight loss methods, including pills, slim fast, GNC fast weight loss products and every fad diet that has come around. Nothing has worked. I would lose up to five pounds and then gain it back plus some.

I am only 5 feet tall so the forty pounds makes a definite difference in the way I look and feel. This year I made the decision to finally lose the weight and that was it. I researched Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and other weight loss centers, but the closest locations were about an hour from my home.

I joined our local YMCA and have met several women who were in the same situation as I was. I have to work out and burn calories to lose weight and get in shape and I have to eat less. That is the only way I can do it and keep it off for good. The pills are only for short periods and really aren't good for me(ephedra). With the support of these people and the fact they are working out with me. I have finally lost fourteen pounds and I am keeping it off. I feel so much better about myself and I am outgoing again. I feel so much better than I have in a long time.

I believe you have to have support in your weight loss effort to make it a permanent one.
