Healthy weight loss by caring for your liver

This started out as a comment to an excellent piece on a book entiled, The Liver Cleansing Diet, written by Marieroy. I then tried to write it as an agreeing opinion but was unable to. So please bear with me until I find the proper place to put this. I have contacted the Epinions administration. As soon as I get an answer, I will move it, so please refrain from taking police action! <Grin>
Having had a severe case of Hepatitis Type B 17 years ago, I am no stranger to liver cleansing. On many occasions, I have had to put my liver in what I call Manual Mode several times.
MarieRoy is absolutely right-on regarding Milk Thistle. It is one of the most powerful, beneficial herbs on the market. A word of caution though! Just because it is an herb and / or purchased in a Health Food Store, it does not mean that it is a good product. This holds true for all herbs and vitamins. These products are not regulated. Seek the advice of a professional if you are unsure.
Many herbs are grown in inferior environments and chances are great that they are sprayed with toxic chemicals. One brand that I highly recommend is Yellow Sun Ulta-Pure Naturals. This is highly recommended and superior. There are others. Be sure to ask! If it is cheap and offered in the back of a magazine, proceed with caution!
In addition to Milk Thistle, there are several other items that may be incorporated into your daily dietary regimen that are equally as effective in maintaining a healthy liver. Here are a few:
~ Green Magma
Made from the dried juice of baby barley leaves and combined with a brown rice base, this product is a must for those with severe liver conditions. When I visited a top Gastroenterologist 17 years ago concerning my hepatitis, he was aware of Green Magma and its healing effects. It is said to regenerate liver cells. I can attest that I firmly believe as do my doctors that this helped me survive a potentially fatal case of that Hepatitis.
~ Raphenol
A powerful enzyme found in black radishes, this also helped save my life! Although I juiced them at the time, I now take a product called Lipotropic Complex manufactured by Tyler. One of the ingredients in this complex is Raphenol! Along with several other ingredients that include Milk Thistle, this product is perfect for those with liver problems. It helps assimilate fats, which the liver does not do effectively when it is not at top levels of functionality.
You may want to visit a certified herbalist to have a customized tincture prepared for you. I take a liver tincture that contains the following herbs:
Dandelion
Fringe Tree
Chinese Bupleurum
Tumeric
Yellow Dock
Oat
Celandine
Milk Thistle
Peppermint
This too has significantly contributed to my improved state of health.
A few more tips
Drink plenty of pure water. Get enough sleep. Stay out of stressful situations. DO NOT take on more than you can handle! Eat properly by rotating your diet and eating as pure and natural as possible. Pay attention to your body. It will tell you when you have put something into it that it does not like.
Allergies, hypoglycemia and a host of many other illnesses will vanish or improve vastly once you get your liver into shape.
Remember the liver is not only a digestive organ, it is a gland. It has many purposes. The most important is that it is our filtration system. Take care of it!
I am not even on a weight loss program yet but just getting my liver into shape and ridding my body of excess yeast, I have lost 35 pounds.
