If You Need Someone to Talk to...

Nov 02 '00

If you need someone to talk to about effective weight loss programs and sticking with a good program, joining a support group can be a really good idea. This will give you a good support system of people who are going through many of the same feelings, dilemmas, struggles, that you are going through.

By joining a support group, you are meeting other people who are also trying to do the same thing you are and many times they have ideas that might help you. You also, may have ideas that will help them. With a group of people, it is much easier to brainstorm good ideas and effective ways to approach a most unlikeable topic - "dieting".

Furthermore, you are making new friends. You may be able to share nutritional recipe ideas. You are able to laugh together, cry together, and lean on each other for additional support when you feel depressed because you are not accomplishing the loss of weight as fast as you want it to burn off.

Joining a support group for any type of dilemma is always a good idea. You are within a group of people who share your same topic, and it is always good to get other opinions and ideas on how to adjust something that is difficult to begin with.
