nu-pore: The Product.
I have been using a new product called "nu-pore" for about a week. It contains 24 "silky" tissues, and it's supposed to take off your make up and shrink your pores. Basically it was made to compete with the Pond's and Biore products of the same nature. "nu-pore" (it is in all lowercase letters on the package, hence the lowercase letters at the beginning of this sentence) claims that it takes off all of your make-up, deep cleans your skin, unclogs your pores, and moisturizes your skin, leaving it "smooth and soft". Furthermore, "nu-pore" states that it will remove "eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick, blush, and waterproof mascara without skin irritation". It also makes a big deal about the fact that it contains Green Tea, Aloe Vera, and Vitamin E, which are supposed to make your skin smooth.
As I said, I've been using "nu-pore" for approximately a week now. It does it's job of completely removing my make-up, but it leaves my face feeling dry and like there is a layer of residue on it. I ended up having to wash my face again afterwards because I just didn't like the way it felt. The product did make my pores look smaller, but it make my face feel really tight in the process... not soft or moisturized at all.
nu-pore: The Directions.
If you read the back of the package, the directions state that you should "gently stroke tissue over eyelids, lashes, face, and lips, using both sides of the tissue to lift away make-up". After following these directions, my eyes *BURNED* (they did warn against getting this product in your eyes, but I found that even getting it *around* my eyes made them sting), and I certainly do not recommend putting anything with chemicals on it anywhere near your lips! I'd much rather use a regular old napkin to remove my lipstick, thank you!
nu-pore: The Conclusion.
I think this will be my first *and* last time that I use "nu-pore". It seemed to have left more residue *on* my face than it managed to take off. My make-up was completely removed, but when my skin dried off it felt like a layer of "gunk" had been applied. Yuck! I think that maybe I will stick to the Pond's product that I had had before.
