Support is essential

Anyone who finds herself in a position to begin a weight loss journey is on the rough road without a support system. Support is essential if you are going to find success. Taking the first step to join is the hardest thing to do.
Understanding the effort it takes one to begin to lose weight is not something everyone can do. That is why joining a group, such as Weight Watchers, can make all the difference along the way. Voicing the frustrations of losing, looking for advice on what to do or hearing others' opinions is not easy when you are losing weight on your own. I would bet to say that most of those you might approach would have something negative to say and little in the way of encouragement.
Having someone to share your success or your failure with who understands, because they too are on the same journey, can help to change the habits that led to the extra weight. Being able to speak freely without fear of feeling silly is worth the $9.00 spent for the weekly meeting. Having a support group that shares in your triumph when you have lost that 1/2 pound is priceless. Listening to other stories of gain or loss, knowing that you are not the only one who doesn't like to exercise or finding out that there are others out there who can't pass up a donut or a potato chip can help to ease the guilt and start you in the direction that will ultimately turn your weight gain to a weigh loss.
If you are at the point where you would like to take off a few (or more) pounds, consider joining a support group. Don't feel as if you can't make that first step. The reason the others are they is because they know how you feel. Having support in your endeavor WILL make all the difference!! Good luck...with a little help from your friends...you can do it!!
