The A/V cables were exactly as I ordered at significantly lower prices than any other store (on-line or retail) I visited. The site was easy to maneuver through and the layout was very eye appealing. The online experience was weak. I did not recieve propper descriptions or a time when my item would be shipped. However, when i called customer support "Connie 2634" was extremely helpful and pretty much saved "x10 Online Stores's" image. With out her I wouldn't shop with you guys again.

Misleading company....avoid this retailer

Avoid this store at all costs. I purchased (or attempted to purchase) a dual-deck VCR. As listed all over their web page, orders should be shipped within two business days. My credit card was billed the day after the order was placed, and 10 days went by without any order status. When I called customer support, and waited on hold for 25 minutes (they constantly asked during the on hold music to just hang up and deal with the email, or leave my number and have someone call back) I finally spoke with a customer rep who told me that the order was a "third-party" product, and it could be 2-3 weeks before they receive it. When I asked why my card was billed with no product shipped, the rep got surly and just said, "So, what do you want ME to do about it?!" I answered simply, cancel my order. Hopefully I will get a credit as fast as I was charged (yeah, right)

i just wanted to thank wes for his great customer service. i had an issue with my x10 order the cm19a was D.O.A. and after talking to csr's the past two days with no success. i just called and got this guy wes and he took care of it. with no problems.this is the kind of service every customer should be getting and that is 100% respect and he surpasses that. so if you want great service i would start asking for this guy. great job. and no i do not work for x10. nor am i brown nosing for points. i just think we should tell it like it is. when we can. we the customer is what keeps this company in bussiness, and therefor we need to have good service and they should bend to our needs. and this guy did just that.keep it good buddy great job wes.j from newfoundland canada

Do not let yourselves fooled by x10 products. The design of these products is below the published spec.For instance the video transmitter is marketed with a capability of continuous image and sound on a 100ft radius.After I tried it the receiver and sender have to be at below 10ft with no obstacles in between! When you attempt to return the product they will do all they can to hinder the refund process by making you call different people and departments at x10.

Equipment can become useless - a ploy by X10?

Years of no problem because I never had a need for "support" until I tried to reinstall a ShowTime unit on a new hard drive. The software would not reinstall stating their was a "newer version". As this supposed newer version is not on their web site, I requested a link from support. To date they have refused to provide it unless I find the original receipt from August of 2002 when I bought the unit although I gave them credit card data and other "proof of purchase".
How many people keep receipts handy for years assuming that the software would be triggered to "expire" without notice on equipment they buy from X10?? Warning! The backup you saved on the original installation will not work either if you need it for a reinstall- and this bit of X10 chicanery can make your equipment purchase amount to nothing more than an expensive pile of useless junk!

I seemed to have trouble getting a UPS (or Fed Ex?) tracking number. Having never dealt with X10 before, this left me feeling uncomfortable until the product safely arrived.
I ordered something from another vendor (Apple Store) and they go out of their way to keep customer informed on shipping status. It would be nice if X10 emulated Apple in this manner.

Ordered on-line...went smoothly. Was planning on purchasing the same product at another store (Sears). Their website indicated that they had the product. I placed an order, but the product never showed up...three weeks later I called them to track it down and it had never been shipped. Sears customer service said they would follow up on the item and find out where it was. After another week (a month after I originally purchased the item) they told me that it was no longer available.
I then did a search and found that you had the same product for about the same price. Ordered it and it showed up in about four days. Thanks!

The portable DVD player was shipped to the billing address, not the shipping address-I did not catch the error in time because they never sent the shipping confirmation. Once shipped to the wrong address, and once I proved to them with the order confirmation that they had made a mistake, a sales rep said they'd send me a voucher to cover shipping. A week later and after a second phone call, I was told they COULDN'T send a shipping voucher, they gave me a store gift certificate for their store instead (fairly useless). Now I'm stuck with additional shipping fees, gift certificates that would require me to spend more money at their store, and a christmas gift that hasn't even been shipped as of 1/6/05

Purchase was no problem. After the transaction I received the comfirmation email. 10 or so days past and I hadn't received the merchandise. The confirmation email stated I would receive an email notifing when the item shipped; never happened. I emailed them 3 times; no reply. Finally called them and was told my item if fact did ship. Well, it's be two weeks now and I still haven't received my order. Will probably receive it soon but I hate the fact that they state they'll notify when shipped but don't. Oh, expect to receive daily SPAM email if you purchase from them. I've tried several times to have my e-address removed from their list; no luck.
